These self regulation cards help children to identify how they are feeling. Add a pipe cleaner and bead, so that your child can move it up and down as their feelings change.
The set of six cards can be used once a feeling has been identified. Each colour card has some strategies, which might be useful to help children move from one colour to another.

A rainbow designed poster with 14 different skills to work on before starting school. Each skill is linked to one of the three Prime Areas of learning from the Development Matters document.

A space has been created for parent/carers to tick off each skill as their child can independently achieve them.
Once they have achieved all of the skills, they will have completed the rainbow. This could then be rewarded at home in anyway that suits each individual family.

Feelings Wheel
The self regulation cards help children to identify how they are feeling. There are six colours of the rainbow. Each colour identifies a main feeling. (Black has not been used, due to the possible negative impact on childrens understanding of race and diversity).
The set of six cards have five words for each colour, This gives a range of feelings words for children to learn to use. Each colour card has some strategies, which might be useful to help children move from one colour to another colour.
The cards can be laminated back to back and a whiteboard pen can be used to tick in the blank heart to name the partoiuclar feeling words with the young person.
The slides introduce each character and a second page explains the strategies, which support each colour heart.
